The four local authorities that make up the unitary authority of Pennine Lancashire have briefed Headland Website Design Leeds to design a website and a range of online tools to take their public engagement programme to the next level.
The site will combine Web 2.0 technologies, significant opportunities for user generated content and public involvement in Pennine Lancashire consultations. It is envisaged that the site will raise the bar for public sector research and public engagement at a local level. “The site is already in development in the latest version of the Ektron CMS400.net platform and is planned for launch early 2010. It’s a fantastic use of the online channel for local government.
The site will give the people of Pennine Lancashire a real focal point online to have their say and make their opinions count. It is a model that can be deployed by local authorities across the UK,” commented Graeme Wilson, Headland Website Design Leeds.
