The first website promoting the breadth of collections, exhibits and exhibitions across Leicester City Council’s six diverse Museums and Galleries has been launched. The brief to Headland was to create a website that presented both the councils overarching commitment to artistic and cultural heritage as well as providing a dedicated web presence for each of the six venues.
The Headland designed and developed website is the third project we have delivered for the team at the city council.
The website is built on the Umbraco platform. The website is fully editable throughout for content, imagery and media files. The navigation for each venue can be managed independently. Navigating the site is supported by content tagging and a selection of tile configurations created as grid editors. Leicester City Galleries and Museums possess a wonderful library of imagery and it was this that we wanted to make the central focus. The ‘What’s on’ exhibitions and events features the headland bespoke event module signposting and promoting activities across the six venues.
“We look forward to enjoying the role the website and the fantastic content will play in driving gallery footfall as we progress to new normal times”. Graeme Wilson Headland Director.
