Headland in training for the Leeds 10k

We have entered 12 runners for the annual Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k, on Sunday 14th July.

This sudden surge of enthusiasm from the Headland team came at the end of our Christmas party back in December, and what seemed like a great idea at the time is now nearing reality. No one has yet dropped out and everyone - well, almost everyone! - is now out jogging in the wind, rain, sun and hail.

We have taken delivery of our new running shirts, which some members were quick to try on yesterday. Shown left to right are Juanita, Graeme, Craig, Ken, Adam and Ayat. So now we are starting to look like a fully fledged team! Team captain Geoff is currently training at high altitude in Turkey - running in his trunks and flip flops we hear.

We are of course, raising money for various good causes and several of the team are doing this individually. In total, we hope to raise over £1000 for charities in the Leeds district. We need all the support we can muster so are very grateful for any contributions. Moral support is also required!

For those of you who don't know us, the ambitious runners are Adam, Ayat, Craig, Dave, Geoff, Graeme, Isabel, Juanita, Ken, Nick, Rob and Shelagh. Most are going for personal best times, which shouldn't be that difficult as 10 of the 12 runners have never entered a 10k before!

Over 40 teams are currently entered in the Corporate Challenge event which sets off on the day, alongside 10,000 other runners. Good luck to all.

See the Leeds 10K site for further information.
