Blaby District Council are committed to providing the highest standards of service to their residents. Online communication is a major pillar of the council's communication strategy. After a competitive tender process Headland were appointed and briefed to support the council in the strategic planning, design and delivery of the new website to the highest accessibility standards.
Our discovery model provided the framework to establish the functional specification and creative brief. The resulting design benefits from the latest contemporary website design practices to deliver a highly usable and accessible resource to the residents of Blaby.
The website provides an important source of information across all the district councils services, from waste and recycling to housing, from paying council tax to environmental issues. The site is integrated with the third party My Blaby solution providing access to online payments and postcode level information for services such as bin collection.
The website is built on the Umbraco CMS platform, bespoke development work addressing council specific requirements enhancing out of the box functionality taking advantage of the platforms open API.
