Ektron CMS and bespoke development solutions
The sizable brief from the Law Society featured two key elements. The first was a series of stakeholder workshops leading to a detailed technical specification. The second element was the development and delivery of an Ektron CMS driven, transactional website integrating data from multiple sources to deliver a much more usable platform for both the business and the user
Throughout the development process we worked in partnership with the Society's roster of agencies and the inhouse project team. Our development team designed and built all of the customisations needed to deliver the site's features. Adopting an agile approach ensured that there was continuous delivery, with showcases at key intervals to give the Society the opportunity to review development.
Headland developers integrated a number of data feeds using APIs, web services and XML feeds to incorporate data from other websites within the Society's web portfolio. Work is ongoing to integrate the client's Customer Relationship Management software and membership management solution with the public facing website.
The solution successfully combines a heavily customised Ektron CMS installation with a number of bespoke developments, to maximise the delivery of content to the Society's members and the public. Headland has now been briefed to apply a responsive framework to the site, to enable a seamless viewing experience across all devices.
The Law Society offers such a wide range of services to its members that developing something clean and streamlined was a real challenge. The society is really pleased with the new design and we hope the members like it too.
